There are times that I receive email notifications with links to new or updated online information regarding GIS, survey, orthographic and mapping websites. I just received an email for the first link listed below and I decided to bring forward a list of the best historical mapping websites that I have used in the past that are offered for anyone interested that may be looking for different kinds of information, such as a year a county was created or ancestors being annotated on a map.
